Bowling Ball Info - Question and Answer
QuestionWhat is the difference between a tour version and a regular version of a bowlling ball?
AnswerSince (touring) pros usually have powerful releases, some of today's bowling balls are sometimes too powerful. Pros often want to have 'weaker' or mellower ball reactions to optimize ball reaction and pin carry. Most league bowlers, however, usually want the opposite, and seek out very hard snapping bowlings balls. Manufacturers try to accomodate the needs of the pros and will sometimes make a 'Pro Edition' of certain bowling balls. Often the only way to identify the difference between the regular and tour versions is by the color of the ball's pin. That's why BBI tries to include the pin color with balls that have both versions.
